A single view

The thing I like the most about being on a mountain bike is the possibility you instantly have. You can go just about anywhere that you could walk or hike, just 5 times faster. Road bikes are great, dont get me wrong, but you are stuck going where someone else has created a path for you to go. Mountain bikes arent limited to a known route, you can make up your own, discover new things you would have never known about otherwise. Single tracks are brilliant for this, because although you are following a designated carved out route, you generally feel like your the only one out there - 'an intrepid explorer seeking out a path through nature'!

Chris Akrigg here really epitomises this theory in this incredible video. Although not in my wildest dreams could I even attempt to perform such amazing maneuvers that he makes look so annoyingly easy!

Make your own path? No sweat.
