On one of the switchback trails up to the top of Stromlo, there is a tree on a corner boasting a spectacular view of Canberra that was obviously decorated for Christmas covered with baubles and tinsel. It still has some baubles left and I think this typifies the feeling up there.
Every day is Christmas day up on the single tracks of Stromlo forest park.
On the way down Skyline, onto the Luge and then finishing off the downhill with a flowing run all the way to the carpark, you get a great sense of exhilaration and a high that would, I'm sure, leave even a drug addict satisfied.
