Photos from the Saddle

Spring time is a beautiful time of year to ride, especially single track with a view like this one at the back of Mt Stromlo earlier today (before the crowds of Scott 24 hour riders getting their last few training rides in). I did about 30kms, some on trails I have barely ridden before-  hike a bike, Brutal climbs, nasty up and downhill rock gardens and not to mention fast flowing fun. I love early morning weekend rides!

The Zoo

While William was at a school friends birthday party, I took the other 3 to the National Zoo and Aquarium. This year we bought a family pass so we can go as often as we like. On this occasion the boys even got to pat an Aligator (Lucas was holding my leg!).

Little birdy

Lucas up a tree at school being a bird. He is generally pretending to be one animal or another on most days.

Flow

With just over a week to go until the Scott, here is a little teaser into the world of Mt Stromlo MTB. Calving up some of the well known strommas downhill runs here are the boys from Flow magazine. These super quick trails always leave a grin on your face, even when watching someone else ride them on YouTube!

I already knew that

Sam has this thing he says on a regular basis if he feels like your telling him old news, 'I already knew that!' Jem and I often laugh about it and now say to each other regularly.

I came across this in his portfolio at school the other day. His class had a visit from Constable Kenny a few weeks ago and taught the kids about road safety, stranger danger and the like. This is what Sam learnt, but it seems he already knew that!!

Just hangin

Will, Jacob and Lucas just hangin at the new park in Belconnen after a scoot from the skate park, whilst Sam and Jem were hangin at the mall.

Rubiks Cube Nationals

The Rubiks cube Nationals just happened to be in Canberra this year and William was very keen to take part and cube against the best. He did so well and after a nervous start seem to fit right in and was in his element solving the 2X2 in 10 seconds, the 3X3 in 29 seconds and the Pyraminx in 12 seconds! The World Champion in 3 different categories, Feliks Zemdegs was also there which was awesome to see. If you have never heard of him, check these out -

3X3 fastest single solve, one handed! -

Fastest single solve 4X4 -

A photo of William about to solve his 3X3 in about 35 seconds! (He is amazing)
