Quote of the day

If you have a willingness and a belief to be successful, the path you choose will be right, no matter what it is. The "different" players, and people, are often the best. Just don't let the masses tell you differently.

Wise words from NBL great and current coach of the Melbourne Tigers, Chris Anstey.

Premium Class

Jems and I went out to the movies the other night to finally get around to using our gift vouchers from last Christmas (we dont get out much!). Not just any gift vouchers, they were Premium class movie tickets!

With Ben babysitting, we went to see Tom Hank's new movie 'Captain Phillips' which was really good. Being over 2 hours long it also gave us the opportunity to soak up the premium experience. A seafood platter, bottle of wine and lounge chairs that almost turn into beds!

Kate, James and Patrick

Our regular midweek catchups with Kate and James have been invaded by another little person lately! Patrick you are most welcome!!

Muzza Field Days

The Murrumbateman Field days were on a couple of weekends ago, which gave us an excellent opportunity to chat to some very useful contacts in everything to do with building and farming - from water tanks to mowers, chickens and farm animals to septic tanks, plants, trees and everything in between. A lovely and very timely day out as all these things we will be dealing with in the future.

The boys (and Jem and I) also thoroughly enjoyed the fair rides, face and body painting and the petting zoo throughout the day!

Canyon backflip

Ever backflipped over a Canyon on a bike? I do it all the time, just havent got it on video yet! Here's a demo from the Red Bull downhill, not quite as good as mine but you get the idea!

Floriade and the 'Sky Boobies'

We went down to Floriade with Diana/Nana this morning which is in its final weeks, but still beautifully full of colour. As we got there the famous 'Sky Whale' balloon (which looks more like a bloated turtle with multiple back boobies!) was just lifting off.

Tura Beach holiday

We got to see and stay at Dads/Grandads new house in Tura Beach over the last few days. Its really really nice and has some magical views of the water! The kids again enjoyed catching up and ours especially enjoyed spending some time at the beautiful beaches in and around Merimbula.

The Scott 25 hour 2013

Another 24 (+1) hour mountain bike race done and dusted. Team Blackett Homes finished in 11th place in the category and if it wasnt for a few mechanicals it probably would have been 10th. We are stoked with that and all did an amazing job at staying consistent with lap times, even through the darkness of the night when everything becomes alot harder. Thanks Joe, Rich, Matt and Bruce for an awesome day/night of riding and also thanks to Blackett Homes for making this years event a whole lot more comfortable!!

Swimming lessons

School holiday swimming lessons started today!

Stromlo with the boys

I decided to see how William and Jacob would go riding up one of the toughest climbs in Canberra - the single track climb to the top of Mt Stromlo. They both did really well, making it up the whole way, sometimes on foot, occasionally with tears but eventually tuffing it out and reaching the top. Well done boys!

 Half way, energy levels low

At the top, exhausted!

Not often you get to start a ride right where hot air balloons are setting up ready for flight
