Photos from the Saddle

I had a quick spin and exploration around Bruce Ridge the other evening and have a new found love for the suburban single track mtb playground. One of those rides that feels like where you are, is exactly where you should be. It definitely gets you excited for the next time....

Chugga Chugga Toot Toot!!

Jems work friend Sam hosted her daughter Chloe's 2nd birthday party at the miniature trains in Kingston. Hosted is an understatement though with an amazing spread, train cake and party bags for the kids, as well as multiple pre paid rides on the trains.

We all had a lovely time although I know we will pay for all the sugar the boys demolished later on! eeek!

Jems colourful Sunday walk!

Jem took part in the Canberra edition of 'The Color Run' this morning, which saw thousands of people walking around the lake getting covered in a rainbow of different powder paints. At the end everyone finished at stage 88 in the botanical gardens where there was a massive party atmosphere! Fun way to start a Sunday!

Photos from the saddle

I was lucky enough to get out for another ride this morning as all the boys are at school and I have nothing else to do!! Bliss. I might delay my new job for a few more weeks, I could get used to this!!

I turned off the main road and took what I thought would be a short cut to another main road, but it ended up being a 12km corrugated gravel bone shaker. May have still been shorter, but not sure about quicker! And here I was thinking I would like to ride 'The Paris Roubaix' course to see what its like.....it turns out I actually dont!

Nothing like mixing up the road ride with a bit of dusty cyclocross action! Although if I go that way again Ill definitely be on nobbly tires and dual suspension!

Double digits today!

Happy 10th Birthday William!

He took 4 of his friends to the WNBL game at the AIS this afternoon to watch the Capitals play. They had hot chips, lollies and cupcakes and Jem even got his name announced over the P.A. system wishing him a happy birthday in front of the crowd! He was mostly mortified over the attention!! Pretty funny. Afterwards saying "Can you not ever do that again!" haha.

Love you boy!

Photos from the saddle

I usually take just one photo on my rides, but I really struggle to restrict myself to just one when riding the 'One tree hill border loop' like tonight. The scenery and views are spectacular, especially in the evening light.

First day of school!

Lucas had his first ever day of preschool today and loved it! No tears (although Jem and I were welling up a bit!). It was actually the first full day he has been away from either me or Jem ever! So we were much more apprehensive than he was and I was more than a little excited to pick him up this afternoon!

Sam also had his first day of kindi and he just happily slotted right back into the school routine as only smiling Sam can do. They are so ridiculously cute in their little uniforms together! 4 little school boys now! Tomorrow Ill get a photo of them all together, orrhhhhh....
